How the master XLSX works
One file, four statuses: OWNED, PENDING, WISHLIST, SOLD. Every purchase, order and sale updates the same record, so a full history is kept without duplicates.

Price Research • MA-Shops
Search across all possible forms/variants, not just exact-string match.
The app analyzes the text and suggests an identity. The face value (e.g. 25 cent) is a coin characteristic confirmed via uCoin. The current market value/selling price is a separate field and should come from research on real listings.
Prices: live automatic search on MA-Shops. eBay has strong anti-bot protection (JS challenge) that can't be bypassed automatically — use the "eBay" / "eBay sold" link below for a one-click search in your own browser. Comparisons should be made between active listings and, where relevant, with total cost including shipping.
Catalogue data (Numista)
Metal composition, weight, diameter and side images — from the official Numista API (not a market price).

Metal value (melt value)
Indicative value of the precious metal content, based on the live spot price. Applies only to silver/gold — common alloys (copper-nickel, bronze, steel, etc.) have no meaningful metal value beyond face value.
Metal characteristics (composition/weight/diameter per issue): filled in automatically from the "Catalogue data (Numista)" section above, when a match is found.

How automatic price search works.
Recommended source stack
Catalog identification: Numista (automatic, shown in Price Research). Prices: MA-Shops (automatic) + eBay (2 one-click links). For a serious valuation, keep active asking prices separate from real sold/auction prices.
Live search MA-Shops: runs through a small local backend (Python) on your computer — it has no CORS/proxy restrictions, so it's far more reliable than searching directly from the browser. Open START_COINBIDS.bat (leave its console window open while you use it) and let it run in the background. Without it, Collection/Wishlist/Sales still work normally — only live price search needs the backend.
Why not eBay automatically? eBay protects its search page with a JavaScript challenge ("Pardon Our Interruption") that requires a real browser to pass — no simple automated request reliably gets past it. eBay stays available as a one-click link ("eBay" / "eBay sold" in Price Research), which opens in your own browser and works normally.
